The USO, a nonprofit committed to supporting the well-being of the people who serve in the U.S.\n military and their families, stands at the forefront of compassion. From assisting the families of\n our fallen service members to delivering care packages overseas, the USO extends unwavering support\n to our military community in every way possible.<\/p>\n

Mo, faithfully served our nation for 23 years. How did Mo learn of USO programs you ask? Mo\n was a frequent flyer of the entertainment and recreational programming provided by the USO,\n where he learned to master the ping pong table and met a few celebrities along the way.\u200b<\/p>\n
But his most memorable interaction with the USO was the support they provided following his\n grandfather\u2019s passing, while he was traveling to attend the funeral.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
Steven Hess, gave 6 years of service to our country. During deployment, Steven relied on the\n USO for the simple stuff\u2026 friendly words! While he very much looked forward to letters from\n his family, he also enjoyed the ones written by USO volunteers. He says that it was a great\n morale boost to read that people were proud of him and ready to support him any way they\n could (the care packages were just the cherry on top!)\u200b<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
Charlene Downey is a former military member, who dedicated 26 years to active duty.\n Throughout her time in the service, Charlene interacted with the USO any chance she could\n and loved doing so. From the warm smiles of every volunteer to an unbelievable homecoming\n celebration after deployment \u2014 she knew she could count on the USO to provide the comforts\n of home in the greatest times of need.\u200b<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
Bob spent 5 years protecting our country under water via a submarine! Pretty cool, huh? But\n that\u2019s not all his fun facts because interestingly enough Bob\u2019s USO roots actually go way\n back to WWII, when his grandfather was part of the military. <\/p>\n
When we asked Bob how the USO has helped him personally throughout the years, he laughed and\n said, \u201cthrough directions.\u201d Right out of boot camp, Bob couldn\u2019t figure out the initial\n flight he was assigned to. Luckily, the USO volunteers at O\u2019Hare International Airport\n helped him on his way.\u200b<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
